Cosmetic / Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture is an effective, non surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging based on the principles of Chinese medicine. Although used for many years in China and the Far East, it has only attracted attention in the west over the past few years and now what was once a well kept secret amongst the Hollywood rich and famous has
become available in the UK.

What are the benefits?

The aim of the procedure is to diminish the signature signs of aging and improve the complexion and skin tone recapturing a fresh faced radiance and natural glow.
Cosmetic/Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture can be very effective in minimising fine lines around the eysand softening the appearance of deeper lines. It can help raise bags under the eyes, improve dark circles and firm chin lines. It can also tighten pores, brighten eyes and reduce stress evident in the face.
Patients usually experience a general tightening of facial tissue giving a smoother firmer look to the face.

How does it work?

The procedure works through a combination of tiny needles inseted in the skin, elecronic pads attached to some areas followed by a carefully constructed natural lift facial massage.
The Qi/electrical activity and blood flow of the skin and underlying supporting muscles are stimulated, boosting the supply of nutirents, oxygen and moistureto these tissuesand at the same time also toning the facial muscle structure.
Collagen and elastin production are thought to be stimulated by the body repairing micro-trauma caused by the needles, filling out fine lines and giving the skin increased elasticity.
Acupuncture also has the advantage of being able to treat each patient as an individual identifying any specific causes of any overt signs of aging and treating them accordingly.

At The Pimlico Clinic we use a unique combination of Cosmetic/Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture and natural lift face massage which although not a replacement for a surgical face lift offers an alternative to those who have no wish to go to that extreme yet still feel they need a little help.

What is the Course of Treatment?

Acourse is usually comprised of 6 x 90 minute treatments carried out once a week.
This can be followed by a maintenace treatment required approximately once every 4 to 6 weeks.

It is not only women who are keen to look their best, men too often appreciate the benefits of Cosmetic/Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture over more invasive procedures as the results give a natural fresh youthful look to the face without running the risk of looking like a stretched balloon.
